A one-on-one coaching sessions involves having a chat about life right now.

Many people find the thought of coaching daunting, and worry that they won’t know what to say. It doesn’t need to be that way, you will find my style informal and relaxed. You will find that it’s easier than you think.

Coaching is not about positive thinking, but that is often the end result. It is however, about approaching life in a way that works for you, rather than against you. You'll be amazed how good you can feel even after just one session.

There is a saying. "You don't know, what you don't know.” This is your chance to find out.

The work we do together enables you to reprogram these old patterns of thinking to make way for new pathways and a more efficient way of living. Here lies an opportunity to utilise your personal power and allow a life that works for you, rather than against you.

Parent and Youth Coaching

Making necessary and important relationship changes.

It is inevitable and essential for relationships to change as our youth move from childhood to adulthood.

Youth are learning to be independent and make choices for themselves and this can be daunting and overwhelming.  Parents are learning to let go and take more of a backseat. It can be a precarious time for all. It can be difficult to see each other’s point of view!

This is where I can help, by working with parents and youth separately, but at the same time.  Rebuilding respect and acceptance, developing clearer and more positive communication skills and employing personal responsibility are the main focus. Enabling a fresh, new relationship to develop that is lasting and solid.

Parent and Youth Coaching Package involves one parent and one youth.  Starting with one meeting with both of you together and then having alternate appointments for three sessions each. Seven meetings in all.

Changing the current mindset.

“Until recently, the conventional thinking was that our brains were hardwired at birth and therefore unchangeable. But the truth is that our brains are constantly being reshaped by our daily experiences.

But here’s the problem: the brain is bad at learning from good experiences but good at learning from bad ones. We learn faster from pain than from pleasure, and negative interactions have more impact on a relationship than positive ones. In effect, our brain is like Velcro for the bad but Teflon for the good. We continually look for negative information, over-react to it, and then quickly store these reactions in brain structure.

This negativity bias kept our ancestors alive in tough conditions, but now it’s a “bug” in the Stone Age brain in the 21st century: a bottleneck that blocks good experiences from becoming inner strengths built into neural structure.’”
